  • 12 oz bow tie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1 lb Italian sausage mild or spicy, casing removed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for sautéing
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz can
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Cook the bow tie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add Italian sausage, breaking it apart as it cooks. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in diced tomatoes, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together until evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve in bowls, garnished with fresh basil or parsley.

Notes

For extra spice, use spicy Italian sausage or add red pepper flakes. Fresh herbs enhance the dish!
